Gonny Stuut has been a multidisciplinary visual artist since 1990. She studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, and has since worked as an independent visual artist based in Delft.

Over the past 36 years, her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally.

Alongside her independent practice, her oeuvre has expanded to include various local and international collaborative projects involving diverse age groups. She has also developed crossovers with textiles, costumes, and performance art.

The work on display at De Pels includes watercolour collages with surrealist undertones, which draw you into the world of the subconscious, the irrational, and the absurd. Different aspects of human existence, with all its desires and impulses, are combined in unexpected ways to create alienating and thought-provoking imagery.
